Woodland Birth Announcement

Kate & Rob {friends of my very first Etsy client, BTW} contacted me about creating a custom birth announcement for their new little man.  I didn't have anything like this in my shop but she just wasn't finding what she was looking for out in cyberspace so she gave me a shot...and I'm so glad she did!
The Woodland Birth Announcement is now available in the shop!

All My Gratitude

I just want to say thank you to my loyal clients who have been so understanding this past week or two.  After a friend of our family passed away very suddenly, I closed my Etsy shop in order to be supportive of our friends who were mourning their father.  I spent that week catching up on work and designing a funeral program for the services that were held.  Much to my surprise, I still managed to stay pretty busy.  Through it all, I heard from so many of you offering your blessings and letting me know that my friend {whom you don't even know} was in your thoughts & prayers.  Kaci, who lives in Florida, sent a quick note letting me know she was thinking about me and Kristen, from Washington, shared her own experience of losing her mother.
Of course I passed these words on to my friends who were very much appreciative of such kindness.  I don't know any better way to share my gratitude with you all other than to say...♥ Thank you ♥

Sneak Peak

As I try to soak up the last bit of sun that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, I'm also busy gearing up for an even better holiday season than last year.  As always, I hope to have a little something for everybody but if you don't see exactly what you're looking for, please leave me a comment, email or convo me on Etsy with your ideas or requests!

Fall & Christmas designs are starting to appear in the shop!  I've listed all of last year's designs and I am adding more as I complete them.

I felt like mid-August was a tad bit early but since I know there are some early birds out there who are starting to think about Halloween parties and Christmas cards, I went for it!

Here is a sneak peak at one of my fresh designs as well as a fan favorite from last year.

Cool Daddy-O

Just finished this thank you card {a custom version of the Rugged Blues birthday party invite} for little Russell in California.  His 50's-themed 1st birthday bash was a smash hit and his mama, Kristie, wanted to send out a photo thank you card to all of the hep cool cats that attended his little shin-dig.
Sorry, I got a little carried away there.

Rain, Rain...

Just trying to brighten my rainy days in my Northwestern neck of the woods.  Just heard that by 9am this morning, Portland {Oregon, that is} has HALF of it's normal June rainfall...and its barely June 2nd!!  We're used to rainy spring days around here.  In fact, even though our winters can get a little depressing, we welcome the spring rain because we know it makes for great summers {and more time on the lake} but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Found It Friday - Dear Lillie

Oh, do I love a good tunic! Anyone who knows me will tell you that I live in jeans. A good pair of jeans can make any woman feel flawless {from the waist down at least}. I just recently worked up the nerve to buy a great pair of skinny jeans. I know, I'm a bit behind the trend...but they had to grow on me. Leggings too. Now that I own a few pair I l.o.v.e. them!

So what better way to top off a great pair of skinny jeans or leggings than an equally great tunic?I found this little gem at Dear Lillie. In her Etsy shop as well as her website, she offers everything from clothing and accessories for women and children to wedding accessories and all of it is beautiful! Those hand-sewn dupioni silk rosettes are gorgeous, aren't they? And another reason to love Dear Lillie? As a graphic designer, not unlike myself, she started out on that entrepreneurial road as a way to stay at home with her daughter and maybe follow a little dream. I love that story. And not just because it is my own but because it is sweet and inspiring.

Watching the spring rain and waiting for sunny days. In between orders, I'm planning my garden. Rainy days in the spring seem to be the best for that. It gets me out of my winter funk and excited about that sun that I love so much.
Besides giving me the urge to throw a party and re-decorate my entire house, this table makes me want to fill my flower beds with sunny yellow flowers. Funny how you can dislike a color one year and fall in love with it the next.

Found It Friday - Soul Peaces

I'm always on the lookout for a beautiful and meaningful piece of jewelry that lets me keep my family close. I find rings and necklaces all the time and still swear the some day I'll have the perfect right hand ring made...some day.
While jumping on Etsy to update my shop, I couldn't help but take a peak at this little gem by Soul Peaces. Love it! I've already showed my husband and dropped a enormous hint for Mother's Day. Wish me luck!

Briggs

How adorable is this little guy?!?This invite is a perfect example of what changes are possible. Briggs' mom found this invite {below} in my shop after purchasing a baby shower invite from me a few weeks earlier. She loved the plaid but the pink & orange hues just wouldn't work for her new little bear {or monkey}. So she emailed with her request of colors and photo.

When the photo wasn't quite the right size for the original layout, we came up with this. Thanks Kaci!

For those of you that are wanting to make this design your own, Briggs' announcement is now available in the shop.

Found It Friday

I've been hemming & hawing over this for a while and I've finally decided to add a weekly feature to the blog. I find so many adorable items online and since I can't buy them all myself, I figure the next best thing is to share them with all of you.
So here is the first of many "Found It Friday" posts:
I found this little guy in Middleburg's Etsy shop. Isn't he adorable! With my winter funk in full force, Middleburg's shop was exactly what I needed to brighten my days and get me looking forward to Spring in the Pacific Northwest! Not only are they creating adorable and unique items, they're doing good things too! Check out their "Handmade for the Cure" line from which they donate 20% to the Susan G. Kolman Foundation. And to top it all off, they are green!!
While there, I found these guys:
And the one that keeps putting a smile on my face:

Happy Friday Everyone!
